Waltz with bashir

This movie has been out for some time, but I recently saw it and want to recommend it here. I have for some reason been avoiding it, thinking it would be an hurtful experience which good movies often can be. It is powerful, and creates the feelings I am sure the director wanted. This one brings my memories back to “Schindlers list”.The music, the pain, do you remember the little girl depicted in red in Schindlers list? A similar visual instrument is used in this animated documentary. The pictures are beautiful and the voices are real interviews from the real people involved in this story.

This time the roles are changed from the Nazi Germans hunting for jews. The Israeli army are the powerful, and the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon are the week and the hated.

The biggest injustice and evil done in the aftermath of Lebanon 1982 is making the man responsible “Sharon” prime minister of Israel 20 years later.

Put this one on your “to see list”!

I love Lebanon

woman

I was talking to christian friend a few weeks back about the war between libanon and Israel. Should I rather say the war between Israel and Hizbollah. He expressed great distress and anger at this muslim nation that again went to war against Gods people Israel.
The sad thing is that all of libanon and the whole of the muslim world is all of a sudden put in the same catogory as terrorists everywhere. And the lebenese people are at least looked upon as muslims and a muslim nation. The truth is far from this : 50 % of all the seats in the lebenese parliment ; 65 of 128 seats are by christian groups in Lebanon!

Many of the poorest people in Lebanon are christians and are very much effected by the war. Where do the evangelical christians I meet here in Sweden want to give there support and money? Well it is certainly not to the inocent lebenese BROTHERS and SISTERS ( as christians like to call other christians) . These christians are unfortunatly forgotten by the christian world and media.

I am certain that almighty God knows exactly who and where they are.

He remembers them and hears there cry for help. Let those of us who call ourselvs Christians do what Hizbollah (the bad guys ) are doing to these poor christians : helping and supporting them build up there country again. A prayer or two might also be good?

I would suggest that those in Lebanon that do not call themselves Christians are suffering and expreiancing injustices in the same way “the Christians” are. So as a follower of Jesus I should think of them as fellow brothers and sisters too, and treat them accordingly.
